Rhino dies after Kenya transfer

 

AUTHORITIES IN KENYA HAVE LAUNCHED AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION INTO THE DEATHS OF CRITICALLY ENDANGERED BLACK RHINOS DURING THEIR TRANSPORTATION FROM ONE NATIONAL PARK TO ANOTHER.

TOURISM MINISTER, NAJIB BALALA, TOLD REPORTERS ON TUESDAY, IN THE KENYAN CAPITAL, NAIROBI, THAT TWO FEMALE RHINOS FROM THE GROUP ARE IN GOOD HEALTH, BUT A TOTAL OF NINE RHINOS HAVE DIED, RAISING THE TOLL FROM THE EIGHT REPORTED ON FRIDAY.

HE ADDED THAT POLICE DETECTIVES HAVE NOW BEEN BROUGHT IN AND GIVEN ONE WEEK TO DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE DEATHS.
